The Moje is a ceramic joint replacement and is primarily used to cure Hallux Rigidus in the Metartarsal/Phalangeal joint but has also been found to be successful in treating other related conditions. Moje Ceramic Implants were developed in Germany during the early 1990’s and are manufactured by the Moje Company. The idea was to overcome issues with reduced range of motion following arthrodesis and use new materials with greater wear characteristics to increase the longevity of the prosthesis and increase patient mobility.
