The bone cavity should be shaped to provide an even cement layer between the bone and prosthesis. An even cement layer provides better stress distribution and reduces the risk of cement mantle failure. Size of reaming should be determined at preoperative planning. It is important to save the transversal ligament in order to optimize pressurization for acetabular cementing.

The CaboJet uses compressed CO2 gas to clean and dry a prepared bone surface prior to cementing. It removes the fatty marrow from the interstices of the bone increasing cement penetration and greatly reducing the risks of fatty emboli being forced into the blood stream during cement pressurisation.

The formulation of Cobalt™ HV Bone Cement is based on the same clinically successful formula as Palacos® Bone Cement. Therefore, the benefits of a pre-colored high viscosity cement remain. Cobalt™ bone cement is pre-colored blue, providing superior visualization of the cement when compared to bone.

The elbow consists of three compartments (humerus, ulna, and radius) that provide two types of motion. The humerus and the ulna allow for hinge-type motion. The humerus and the radius provide rotational motion. The joint surfaces are covered by cartilage, providing a cushion between the bones. The cartilage can become damaged by various events, including fracture, osteoarthritis, and inflammatory or rheumatoid arthritis. When rheumatoid arthritis is present, the cartilage is not being provided with enough lubrication and nourishment. This leads to loss of motion and pain in the elbow.

The Moje is a ceramic joint replacement and is primarily used to cure Hallux Rigidus in the Metartarsal/Phalangeal joint but has also been found to be successful in treating other related conditions. Moje Ceramic Implants were developed in Germany during the early 1990’s and are manufactured by the Moje Company. The idea was to overcome issues with reduced range of motion following arthrodesis and use new materials with greater wear characteristics to increase the longevity of the prosthesis and increase patient mobility.
